“Cardiff’s very own Riding centre that caters for all generations”
It constantly
surprises me that many of Cardiff’s population do not realise that nestled at the top of Wennallt is home to the idyllically
situated Briwnant Riding Centre caters for all generations. The youngest rider is 4 years old & the oldest is 77
years old.
The centre is home to 40 horses situated the Cardiff side of Caerphilly Mountain with unique panoramic
views of Cardiff and the Bristol Channel. See the Severn Bridge to the North Devon coast.
“Our
aim is to provide the perfect location to go off road Trekking through forestry and hillside bridal paths, have a Riding Lesson
or leave your horse with us on Livery. Whatever reason you choose we are sure you will enjoy your visit.”

Reviews
“The owners are fantastic, patient and extremely kind. My riding and
my confidence have improved enormously and I credit that to their ability to teach (which is unlike any riding school I have
been to previously!). There is no intimidation; bullying or put-downs and they know exactly how to get the
best from people. The horses are brilliant and all have fantastic personalities, a far cry from the usual bored, worn
down horses you find elsewhere!”

“Before I came to Briwnant
I thought I could ride, but as soon as I arrived I realised that 5 years at a previous riding school had been a big waste
of time & money. After years of clinging on for dear life every lesson & watching my mate fall off so many times that
she came to hate riding, we both now enjoy ourselves again & I learn so much more here than I ever thought I would in
my life!”

Falling in Love with horse riding again...
People say you never lose the bug for horse riding the adrenalin the passion the adoration for such majestic creatures and
an elegant hobby and sport. Well 8 years ago my horse Ben had to be put down & I swore never to ride again as I
could not cope with the heartbreak & loss I had suffered. Last year I decided that finally I felt brave enough to
want to ride again, but with moves from London to Leeds and then relocating home to Cardiff due to unforeseen circumstances
there was never the opportunity.
I came to Briwnant farm after a recommendation from a friend in a local pub.
The random coincidences thrown at you in life are always reason bound. Thanks to Briwnant Riding Centre
after 8 years of not riding I finally got back in the saddle thanks to my newly found courage and confidence nurtured by the
support and encouragement of the managers I have not looked back since. I count my blessings every day!
This
family runs this riding school like no other. There is no elite hierarchy no 'clickiness' (which you often find at
other schools and yards)
It is highly professional yet simultaneously informal and welcoming. The people are so
lovely and friendly and the horses are like pets not riding school ponies/horses they are not repetitively worked in routines
to create boredom. The horses all have unique personalities and are well looked after and trained.
The Knott
family has natural horsemanship in their blood & bring clients on in such a positive way that the results speak for themselves. A private or group lesson here is worth its weight in gold.
This is my sanctuary, my second home and my
place where nothing else matters. Everyone who visits says the same… there is something really special about
Briwnant Riding Centre, the owners, instructors’ helpers and horses that cannot be put into words. Come and see for
yourself!
